【Corporate News】CECEPEC Supports SASAC in Releasing ESG Report Compilation Guidelines, Paving the Way for Development of China's ESG Management

Preface

On 25 July, in order to implement the requirements outlined in the "Work Plan for Improving the Quality of Listed Companies Owned by State-owned Enterprises "（《提高中央企业控股上市公司质量工作方案》） released by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) in 2022, the SASAC General Office officially issued the "Notice on Forwarding the Research on ESG Report Compilation for Listed Companies Owned by State-owned Enterprises" （《关于转发<央企控股上市公司ESG专项报告编制研究>的通知》）to 98 SOEs and local SASACs. This serves as an important milestone in the development of China's ESG policies.

As the leading drafting unit for this research project, CECEPEC has worked closely with the Bureau of Property Right Management, Bureau of Social Responsibility, and Research Center of the SASAC, as well as other members of the research team, to successfully complete over a year of research work.

About the "Notice"

The release of the "Notice" signifies an important step taken by SOEs in China in the field of ESG information disclosure management. It establishes a solid foundation for promoting the development of ESG in our country and paves the way for gradually aligning with international mainstream standards, such as the Sustainability Reporting Standards of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and the framework of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), among other international standards.

Conclusion

As the leading member of this research project, CECEPEC will continue to actively cooperate with the SASAC in carrying out follow-up work. We will continue to support listed companies owned by state-owned enterprises in their practical implementation and optimization of ESG report compilation. We will provide ongoing professional consultation and guidance, assisting relevant enterprises in completing high-quality ESG reports and helping them continuously improve the quality of their ESG disclosure.
