Sustainability-related Training

CECEPEC is an eligible programme provider under the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA)’s “Pilot Green and Sustainable Finance Capacity Building Support Scheme”. We can offer the " ESG & Climate Transition Certificate Program" for companies and financial institutions, which covers a systematic overview of sustainable development issues and offers numerous case studies on ESG/sustainable development and climate transition issues from various industries and financial sector.

In addition, we provide customized ESG/sustainable development professional training for companies, helping employees in different positions, including the board of directors, senior management, ESG working committees, and ESG working groups, to understand the importance of ESG/sustainable development, enhance related knowledge and skills, and learn how to apply these concepts and principles to actual business operations, in order to more effectively implement ESG management-related work.

The training courses are taught by our senior sustainable development consulting advisors, who will share their experiences and best practices, and provide practical tools and skills to help companies achieve their sustainable development goals.

We offer the following types of training:

  1. 1.Training on ESG reporting/sustainable development reporting:

Through training on sustainable development reporting requirements and frameworks for management/data collection personnel and related explanations on data collection, we help companies better understand sustainable development reporting guidelines, standardize data collection and reporting procedures, and systematically establish ESG/sustainable development management and information disclosure systems.

  1. 2.Training on sustainable development management for boards of directors/senior management:

The course is designed for the boards of directors/senior management of companies, aiming to provide interpretation of the latest ESG guidelines from regulatory bodies such as the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX), enhance the boards of directors/management's understanding of the latest policies and increase their participation and attention to reporting.

Course content:

  • Interpretation of the latest ESG guidelines from regulatory bodies
  • Peer benchmarking research and analysis on sustainable development information, including:
  • Benchmarking based on publicly available information from peer companies (such as their ESG reports)
  • Benchmarking of KPI data (such as emissions data, resource utilization, etc.)
  • Benchmarking of cases, sustainable development award-winning situations, and report preparation standards
  • Benchmarking based on market data and analysis reports (such as CDP/MSCI/DJSI)
  • Through the above benchmarking analysis, companies can understand their own and peer companies' sustainable development performance and the related risks and opportunities they face, in order to make better sustainable development plans and goals.

  1. 3.Green Finance Training

The course aims to promote participants' understanding of green finance, keep up with the latest trends in the international and domestic markets, and interpret the impact of the latest relevant policies on green finance and the integration of green finance in domestic and international markets through classroom and interactive case analysis workshops. It also explores the opportunities in the green finance markets in Mainland China and Hong Kong.

Course content:

  • Introduction to the development of green finance in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and international markets
  • Introduction to the certification and practice of green finance in Mainland China
  • Interpretation of the latest policies and teaching how to respond to and prepare for them
  • Interpretation and introduction to the implementation of the Green and Sustainable Finance Grant Scheme
  • Teaching impact assessment and stakeholder participation
  • Interpretation of the business opportunities brought by the "Green Label" and the challenges in the market.

  1. 4.Energy and Climate Change Related Training
    1. Training on Climate Change Risk and Opportunity Analysis

The course aims to promote participants' understanding of climate risks and opportunities, to learn about the latest international guidelines and practices of advanced companies, and to learn methods for analyzing their own climate risks and opportunities. Through interactive case studies, participants will understand the importance of climate risks and opportunities, the applicable analysis methods, and identify the feasibility of integrating relevant management within the company.

  1. Training on Energy-saving Opportunities Identification and Energy Management

The course aims to promote participants' understanding of energy-saving and emission reduction work. By explaining professional knowledge and sharing practical cases, participants will understand the current status of enterprise energy management and help companies use systematic methods to achieve continuous improvement in energy performance (including energy efficiency, energy use, and consumption).

  1. 5.Eligible programme under the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA)’s “Pilot Green and Sustainable Finance Capacity Building Support Scheme”

CECEP-HKFSI ESG & Climate Transition Certificate Program

The course is jointly developed by CECEPEC and the professional training and education institution, Hong Kong Institute of Financial Management (HKFSI). It provides a systematic overview of sustainable development issues and offers numerous case studies on ESG/sustainable development and climate transition issues from various industries and financial sector, drawing on the experience of CECEPEC. This provides feasible operational guidelines and management improvement ideas for businesses and financial institutions.

Participants can benefit from a 2-day intensive course that covers:

  • The global development trends and macro trends of ESG, sustainable development, carbon and climate change;
  • The current domestic and international mainstream ESG and sustainable development related regulatory requirements;
  • (For corporates) Ways to improve company ESG performance and ESG data management/sustainability management, enhance competitiveness in capital markets, and obtain sustainable financing;
  • (For financial institutions) Understanding of ESG/climate risks/trust responsibilities, as to grasp the latest trends in key industries in the region, and further integrate ESG/climate risk factors into business operations.

Qualified applicants can apply for reimbursement of related fees, up to HKD 10,000, upon successful completion of the training.
