CDP Questionnaire Response

As ESG investment becomes a common investment strategy in the financial industry, companies are seeking their long-term development while thinking about how to better respond to the expectations of stakeholders, including investors. The impact of CDP ratings continues to grow in terms of effectively demonstrating company leadership on environmental issues, particularly climate change.

What is CDP

CDP is a global environmental information disclosure system and internalises the TCFD framework into specific disclosure indicators, making company transformation more operational. In addition to meeting the requirements of investors and buyers, the CDP questionnaire can also be used to understand companies' readiness for various issues and further analyse potential risks and opportunities so as to take measures to reduce the impact of future risks.

The CDP questionnaire score is divided into eight levels, from A to D-, the higher the scoring result, the more comprehensive the consideration and implementation of the enterprise. In 2022, more than 18,700 companies representing half of the world's market capitalisation, as well as 1,100 cities, states and regions, disclosed data on climate change, forests, and water security themes through CDP. The number of participating organisations increased by 38% compared with last year.

Benefits for companies responding CDP

CDP provides a globally standardised disclosure index system, which makes it easier for investors to compare companies in different capital markets. There are nine key advantages to responding CDP questionnaires, including enhancing investor confidence, improving company reputation, and boosting competitive advantage.
