​Invitation: 2019 Hong Kong Green Finance Association (HKGFA) Annual Forum – Fast Tracking Green Finance for the Greater Bay Area


The HKGFA 2019 Annual Forum "Fast Tracking Green Finance for the Greater Bay Area" will be held on Monday 23rd September 2019 at HKEX Connect Hall. This marks the one-year anniversary since the inauguration last September. Policymakers, regulators, financial institutions, companies, third-party service providers and civil society from Hong Kong and mainland China are expected to join the Annual Forum.


The research project "ESG New Era: Corporate Insights and Facts in China Market" initiated by CECEPEC and HKGFA is going to launch the final report at the forum. The report will analyze the current views of listed companies on ESG issues, the challenges and corporate sustainability planning in the future, which will be helpful to achieve consensus among regulators, investors, and companies, to build up a solid foundation for better communications, and ultimately to better reflect the companies’ needs to the market and regulators, thereby further promoting green finance development in the region and facilitating the ESG policy upgrading.


Looking ahead, there are tremendous opportunities for the green finance industry, especially in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). As outlined by the government's blueprint for GBA, we believe it represents a golden opportunity for green finance to play a role in accelerating the green transformation and sustainable development of this most dynamic economic region in the world. As such, the theme of this year's HKGFA Forum has been set as "Fast Tracking Green Finance for the GBA". Ms. Joy Song, Vice General Manager of CECEPEC cum Co-chair, ESG Disclosure and Integration Working Group of HKGFA was invited to host a panel discussion on "A New Era of ESG Disclosure and Integration" to explore the current practices and opportunities of ESG integration with key industry experts.
