Mr. Guoguang XIE, Chief Accountant of CECEP, delivered a speech at the ceremony.

He pointed out that China is vigorously developing a green and low-carbon economy, paying more attention to the quality and efficiency of economic growth, and developing a green economy has become an inevitable internal requirement for China to change its own development mode. CECEP, as the most influential energy conservation and environmental protection industry group in China, has always been committed to the development of the green economy. This cooperation in the field of environmental data has jointly opened up new opportunities for the sustainable development of China and the EU, which is of great practical significance. CECEP is willing to carry out extensive cooperation with Euronext, deeply explore the development potential brought by green finance, and jointly contribute to the future development of China and Europe.

Mr. Kevin YANG, the Managing Director and General Manager of CECEPEC and Mr. Nicolas Rivard signed the cooperation agreement of ERA representing each side.

Mr. Guoguang XIE accepted the interview and told the Paris branch of Xinhua News Agency and China news Agency

The Chinese stock market is on track as best performing in 2019 in dollar terms. More and more China A-share listed companies will be included in liquid emerging market indices, which indicates that global investors are getting more interest in China A-share. CECEP is the main participant in the formulation of China's green financial policy and the leading enterprise in the field of investment integration and consultation of China's ESG. Era data products, independently developed and launched by CECEP, provide an effective data analysis basis for global investment institutions to invest in China's capital market by evaluating Chinese Listed Enterprises with objective and quantitative environmental risk assessment methods.

Ms. Joy SONG, Co-chair of ESG disclosure and integration working group of Hong Kong Green Finance Association and deputy general manager of CECEPEC, accepted an interview with Euronext

Regarding the European investors’ interest in the standards for environmental disclosure of Chinese listed companies and the data quality problems of company disclosure at present, she said, ‘listed companies in mainland China and Hong Kong are facing increasingly strict requirements for environmental disclosure, and the disclosure standards are gradually improving and refining. In terms of the collection and management of ESG data, including environmental quantitative indicators, China's listed companies still need time to improve. At this stage, the launch of ERA data can effectively help investors evaluate environmental risks.

Background of cooperation

ERA data is based on the ERA model independently developed by CECEP (Hong Kong) Investment Co., Ltd., which is first applied to the environmental risk assessment of China's A-share listed companies, taking into account the impact of operating costs caused by environmental factors, the sensitivity of the industry to external environmental factors, and the ability of the companies to manage environmental risks. At present, ERA database covers nearly 600 listed companies with large market value and high liquidity in China's A-share market, including most of the mainstream index stocks, and covers all the CSI 300 index constituents since 2015. ERA model and data build a set of quantitative environmental risk assessment system, with stable and credible raw data source. The multi-level data give a high degree of flexibility, which can be widely used in stock screening, index enhancement and financial product development.
